A money saver December 29, 2011

My 12 year old tractor died this past summer and I needed to find a replacement quickly. A friend of mine recommened I try looking a Sears. I took his recommendation and I am glad I did. I found a tractor that has a bigger engine, my old one was 18 HP and the new Craftsman 21 HP. My old tractor had a 42" cutting deck and my new Sears has a 46" deck. The Craftsman has an 8' turning radius which makes it easier to maneuver around trees and shrubs. The biggest benefit that I received in the Craftsman is one I never even considered. The Briggs and Stratton engine in the Craftsman is more fuel efficient then the one in my old tractor. In a cutting season in the past I used between 25 to 30 gallons of gas. This year I used 15 gallons. With the high price of gas any more this was an unexpected blessing.

The only two draw backs I have found on the Craftsman is;

1) The tractor is made lighter and it tends to lose traction on some sloped areas if the grass or dirt is slightly wet. Now so in the hot dry days of summer.

2) My old tractor, when applying the brake, also placed the transmission in neutral. The Craftsman stops you, but when you lift your foot from the brake it continues in the direction you were traveling. This is something I need to retrain my thinking, but I think would be a good safety feature on the Craftsman lawn tractors.

Craftsman YT 3000 46" Briggs & Stratton 21 hp Gas Powered Riding Lawn Tractor i am a 60 year young female, doing most of my yard alone. This is a very easy to operate machine. I would like a little more step by step directions on how to change the oil and when. But the machine is very easy to use with the bagger it is not really a mess. I wish all machines were this easy.

I bought this tractor eight months ago, and I can tell you it has performed outstanding and cuts with ease. For the size I was totally amazed how easy it was to maneuver around flower beds and trees. I looked at many bands before repurchasing the Craftsman YT 3000 46" with a 21 hp. engine. For the value and performance it is well worth the money.

I just recieved my tractor and took it out for its first mowing. Wow this machine is awesome... Cut is beautiful.  lawn looked amazing.  I researched this mower along with several of the others found at the "big box stores" the features on this mower far exceeded what the other guys were offering. The machine looks great, and is very smooth to operate.  The price was excellent.  Plenty of power and handles hills no problem.  The turn radius is just awesome! I'm very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this machine to others looking.  Make sure you read the manuel before you start. there are several things you need to do before you start mowing. I researched this a ton before hand so I knew what needed to be done.  If you do you will love the way this machine handles and love the way your lawn looks!
