Tiller does a great job April 28, 2011
I've had this tiller about a year and used it for small tilling projects. However, this weekend I tilled a steep hill about 5,000 sq feet. This was an area that had weeds and was at one time a wooded area. I was worried that this small tiller would not be up to the task and might burn out - boy, was I wrong! This little thing did a fantastic job! The hill was so steep that I had my son tie a rope to the carrying handle so he could help pull it up and down the hill as it tilled. This is one tough machine and I would recommend it to everyone. The tines come off easy for cleaning. I would recommend a little bit of 3-in-1 oil on the spine where the tines slip on to make them go on smoother. Great machine and I'm 100% satisfied! It has a carrying handle, lightweight and the handle easily folds down to carry in your trunk.

Couldnt wait to start using this machine based on the reviews that i read. Main reason for wanting an electric tiller was to avoid, at times unbareable, fumes given off by gas tillers. Took it out of the box, assembled it within mins and was on my way....so i thought. This so called "powerful" tiller couldnt even cut thru the softest ground cover, dead st augustine or thru the dry soil without machine "tripping". There is a saftey feature built on this tiller and when the motor is overloaded, the built-in circuit breaker would "trip". A little lift on the bar to give it extra tilling power even threw soft patchs of soil would cause it to "trip". And you would have to wait another 5 secs or so before it allows you to reset. Tried different methods to avoid this, which ended up wasting my time than anything. Had it repackaged and back in the store with a couple of hours.
Pros: lightweight, easy assembly, no fumes, great size
Cons: lacks the power and torque the gas models give, blades do not cut thru weeds effectively, the cord is a potential hazard, for lighter duty task like mixing mulch and top soil.
For big projects, stick with the gas powered machines and save yourself the time and efforts.

Not meant for large jobsI got this to do edging around my wifes flower gardens and it works great for tht. Now I have to get her to learn how to use it. We remove the 2 outer tines to get in the tight spaces and its easier to control. I have used this when we put in the new house and needed to make a slight drainage ditch under the deck area before building. I also use it to turn the compose pile, So far so good. This is not a tiller for large garden breaking but works well between the rows.

Used it in tilling flower beds and working up area where two small trees w/roots were removed. So easy to start. Got it out yesterday to rough up some bare lawn areas to do some fall grass seeding. I had everything done in the time it took me previously to get the old gas mini-tiller started (If I was lucky) The only down side is the need for a power cord. I have tilled the cord a couple of times. I wish I had purchased this 4-5 years ago when I wasted my money on a new gas tiller. It's sitting in my shed. I hate to sell/give it away as it's so difficult to use.

Electric Operation Extends Task Time,Light Wieght,Not meant for large jobs,bouces,Wheels are too smallThe mini tiller digs through dirt all right but if their are any hard clumps it bouces right out of the ground. It did help me complete the job I had in mind but not sure it will re-till my vegetable garden after a long winter. Also the wheels are small and moving the tiller from space to apace is accomplished more easily by just carrying it.
