Briggs & Stratton  3500 Watt Portable Generator - Non CA

This spring we where hit with some really wet weather causing our sumps to run overtime. On top of that we had an Ice storm knock out power for 12hrs+. We picked up this generator to keep the basement from flooding. 6hrs into the blackout our neighbor informed us she din't have back up power and her basement was filling up with water. We ended up running 4 sumps at one time with this unit. It handled it like a champ and saved our butts. Lots of power and awesome fuel consumption.

I purchased a B&S generator on the recomendation of the local small engine shop. The guy said the parts are easy to get if there is a problem and they make a good generator. I only needed a 240 volt to power my well jet pump and at 3500 running watts this unit was one of the smallest for 240. I paired it with a 8 circuit transfer panel and it did the job! It ran my well pump; furnace (oil base board) a bath exhaust fan and 400 watts worth of lighting at the same time easily. I'll be sure not to run the well pump and say a toaster oven or microwave at the same time but worth it not to have a giant 7-10,000 watt unit.

This Generator was a life saver after hurricane Sandy hit us on Staten Island. It gave me the power to my home lights,TV and medical equipment.

The generator ran 5 days straight with no problems! Quiet and efficiant, easy to assemble and start. Did exactly what I needed done.

I had second thoughts about the little 3500 W generator, however, during the last storm I had 2 ? Refrigerators 7 ? Lamps 1 ? Vacuum cleaner (long story) 1 ? Big humidifier For four days This is really the little generator that could?

Bought it 6 years ago and only open box to make sure all was there and in good condition. Hurricane on the way so I finely got it out of the box and assembled it and filled it up. Started on the second pull and ran all I needed. Thanks and It looks good to!!!!! Great product

Do not buy this generator.  I priced around to find that this generator was comparable to other generators, but thought Sears would back their product better than anyone else.  Boy I was wrong.  Had the generator for 2yrs 1 1/2 months before it blew up.  Of course the generator was under warrenty for 2 yrs.  I only used the generator about 10 times.  Sears not only didn't back their product, but they charged me $35 to ship it to their maintenance store, then explained it would cost another $270+ to fix.  I have many Craftsman tools and accessories, I just figured Sears would back this product like they do Craftsman... I was wrong.

Lost power in Irene for 30 hours and the October blizard for 120 hours.  Ran this the whole time and powered a sump pump, small freezer, refrigerator, satellite tv and several lights; also ran a plug to the neighbors and ran some of their stuff.  Easy start and I got about 3 hours per gallon of gas.  Kept my wife and kids happy while everyone else was going bonkers without power. 

I purchased this unit in 2008.  We've had four six hour plus power failures since then,  It ran my home including the fridge, TV's lights, sump pumps, plus the neighbors sump pump with zero problems.

It won't start my 5 Hp air compressor, so it may not start up a deep submersible water pump.

If it doesn't start on the second pull, I've learned to open the gas shut off valve!
