Surprisingly Useful May 07, 2011
The Craftsman 19.2V cordless Chain Saw is exactly what a home owner needs. The chain was tight and sharp right out of the box. I popped in a fully charged battery, added bar oil and was ready to go. I cut two (2), six inch limbs from and existing tree and had enough battery power left to trim the smaller branches and cut the main boughs into fireplace size pieces. If you are looking to cut firewood for the winter, don't buy this. The power is lacking, compared to gas engines of the same size. The machine is quiet, no hearing protection needed. The oiler leaks during storage. I've had it stored on the floor since using it a couple of weeks ago, and there is a couple of ounces of bar oil on the floor. The oiler should be operated with the left hand during use for comfort. All in all, it is a good tool to have around the house with your C3 set.

Good for small jobs September 09, 2010
This is an good little chainsaw. I haven't had as many of the leak issues as the others, but there is some leakage. I've stopped filling it all the way to the top with bar oil since I don't use it as much as my larger chainsaw. As other reviews have mentioned, about 3 to 4 inches no problem. Larger than that? You'll need a bigger chainsaw.

Pros:
Cordless,Quiet,LightweightWorks excellent and light weight. Husband laughed a little when I first used it but he used it and he loves it for small trimming jobs and uses it more than I do. I found that to keep oil from leaking store it upside down just make sure oil cap is on tight.

Oiler leaksGreat for small cutting jobs where you don't want to break out all the paraphernalia of the gas saw. Plenty of power if you don't try to cut large limbs. Have multiple batteries on hand! Having to empty the oiler before stowing is the only real drawback - not so bad.

After an unseasonal ice storm, we had branches all over the yard. It was so bad, a tree service wanted hundred of dollars to haul it way. Instead my husband bought this chain saw and had the whole yard cleared in two days. He was surprised at how powerful it was for the price and the because it was electric.
