Gets the job done. April 26, 2011
Bought this lawn mower new and have mowed 3 times. I mulch and my grass has been a little taller than normal and probably taller than what is recommended to be mulching. Overall though the mower has handled it very well. It starts on the second pull and the easy start is actually easier to pull. My old snapper mower would lose power when mulching tall grass but the craftsman seems to be able to throw the grass out without losing power. It just doesn't cut the longer grass into very small pieces. Really the only thing I do not like about it is that the self-propelled clutch doesn't automatically release every time so you have to push the mower forward a few inches after releasing the self-propelled handle. It's not that big of a deal but it seems to happen more frequently than I'd like. I would recommend this mower.

The lawn mower starts easy May 13, 2011
The easy-start system is impressive and works great! I have only used it once and the grass looked good afterward.
I have encountered three disappointments.
First, the handle is not comfortable to my palms as it has somewhat "squared" edges.
Secondly, the drive control is a single handed (right side only) lever that must be squeezed the whole time the mower is moving. The drive control handle spring is so strong, I get cramps in my hand trying to hold it while mowing.
Thirdly, the mulching is not as good as I had expected when compared to other mulching mowers I have used in the past. The blade that comes with the mower does not chop up the grass very well and leaves long pieces of cut grass on the lawn.

Drive wheels lock when pulled backwards.the mower works good bag holds alot of clippings the only bad thing ive seen with it is that the drive system seems to stick sometimes not enough to move the mower but enough to were the back tires wont spin

I would definately recommend this to my family and friends.

Easy Start/Stong Motor,Goes fast enough for my pace,Easy to useI am used to northern grass not the rough type down in Florida. The salesman advised me to get a more heavy duty mower than I was looking at. Out of the box the little assembly was a breeze. I followed all of the salesman's advice for cutting down here and have not had any issues. It runs smooth- does not cut out, the only issue I had was the cap for the gas does not want to stay on. It is on my recommend list. I do not use the bag, I only use the mulch blade. So that makes cutting even faster for me.

It had large rear wheels and front wheel self propel. It lasted 15 years, and other than changing the plug the 1st of season and a couple of wheels it was pretty much self sufficient maintenance wise. It always started 1st or 2nd pull. I'm expecting the same quality performance I have always had from Ctaftsman!
