I bought one of these to do trimming in tight places and along embankments. These mowers are not as heavy duty as some of the Craftsman products but I wanted a lightweight mower that would be easy to mow up and down a hilly yard. A lightweight mower is not as tiring to use as a heavy push mower. The engine is easy to start and it has worked well so far. I used heavy duty self-propelled Craftsman mowers on our yard for years and have been worn out from pulling them up the embankments.

This mower has plenty of power and maneuvers well, but the "mulching" effect leaves something to be desired. One of the reasons I selected this model was that you could supposedly "mulch" the grass without using the bag. This hasn't been the case. If the grass is even a little long, it collects under the mower and bogs it down. You have to lift the front of the mower to let it shoot out. So instead of the rows of dried out cut grass I was trying to avoid, I have clumps of cut grass randomly spread over the thicker part of the lawn. Yikes! If I use it with the chute, like a "regular" mower, it works fine.

always outsideI have it for almost a year. So far it's been working fine.
Grow grass, grow!I bought this mower in Albuquerque. Our grass there really didn't require a strong mower or anything like that. This mower worked great. A year later, I live in FL where the grass grows like mad and guess what? The mower is still plugging away. I believe I have owned his mower close to 2 years. I never changed the oil, plug, filters or anything like that and I still used it last Wednesday. It is a great mower IMO. It starts up right away and it cuts clean. I'm having it serviced this week by my maintenance guy at work and he assured me it will be ready to beat some more. I have a half acre lot and have no problems. Use the bagger and get some exercise while I make our yard look great.
