Have owned many grills over the years and this Tru Infered is hands down the most impressive grill for the price. Large cooking space to feed many families. Heats up evenly and gets super Hot (800 - 900 degrees) if desired. Don't let the grates at the cooking service fool you. They will not clog and are simple to clean. 10 - 15 minutes before and after your meal and BAM!!! Clean as can be. For me, the best part of the Tru Infered grill is "No Flare Up"!!! WOW... Never thought it was possible. I cook the Fattest steaks, burgers, chicken, sausage and more. And No Flare Up's Ever. Wish I would have bought this grill sooner. Sits outdoors in Sunny Southern California with no cover and still looks brand new. Solid and durable design with great features. Especially with the temp at each grate level. I absolutely hate this grill, worst I've ever owned. I'm not alone, thinking maybe I was just being negative, I had a friend cook burgers during a recent BBQ and he hated it as well, as did all of the guest that proceeded to get smoked out. The problem with the grill is that grates do not allow pieces of food to pass through, instead they sit in place and smolder, smoke, and burn...take a look at the pictures, you will understand what I'm talking about, and I'm sorry to say you can't cook a cheeseburger without some meat/cheese falling onto the cooking surface and when this occurs be prepeared to be smoked out. After you are done cooking, get ready for a clean up because if you don't your next fire up the grill will result in yet another smoldering mess. My only resolution will be to purchase new traditional grill plates, replacing the ones for.....I might leave one of the "infra red" ones on because I do see it being useful for some items, but overall I can't say enough bad about the cooking surface. If you don't trust me on this, when the fire dept comes to your house because of the smoke tell them I said hello and thanks for their service!

Be wary of your cooking times! This thing cooks fast! I bit of a pain to clean because of the grate and emitter design, but well worth the cleaning effort for the searing effect that the Infrared gives your steaks. READ your owners manual or at least the small information book that comes with it. Valuable information on keeping your grill in top working order. Take care of it and it will take care of your food!

This is not a Tru-Infrared gas grill instead, this is a convection type gas grill with tubelar type steel burners capable of producing 700 degrees farenheit. Tru-Infrared ceramic burners can produce a whopping 1600 degrees farenheit. That's what Infrared cooking is all about! High heat with Infrared burners attacking only the food and not the air around it.

It took a while to get used to how this one cooks but once you master it, it cooks moist, juicy and delectable food every time! Love it!

Have you ever purchased something and you have a love hate relationship with it. Well this is how we feel about our Char-Broil Grill. One of our favorite things to do is grill and have company over so our grill gets used alot. The grilling part works just fine and the food that is grilled on the Grill always taste great. Our problem with the grill is its durability. We are not quit sure what happened but on afternoon my husband found the door to the grill laying on the ground beside the actual grill. It had some dings in the metal and the little part that holds attaches the door to the grill was broke. We had had a storm the day before but I would hate to know that it couldn't hold up to the weather, maybe some mean kids tore the door off. Our next problem is that within a year two of the casters fell off while moving the grill out from where we store it. We purchased new ones and they are not cheap. Overall the grill is great for cooking it just hasn't held up and good as we would have wanted.

My husband and I love this grill, we bought it May 2009.  It was easy to assemble,  and easy to use.  We don't use the burner on the side much though.  It is also a very large grill so it would be wise to do some measuring before you purchace it.  The grill heats up very quickly, and cooks evenly.  It truly is very easy to clean, which is a big seller for me, I mean who like to stand there for 20min scrapping the gunk from your grill.  I highly recommend this grill.  We also bought the char-broil grill cover to go with it, it fits very nice, and has velcro sides, it has never blown off, even during a massive storm.
