Craftsman  WeedWacker™ Gas Trimmer 25cc* 2-Cycle Straight Shaft

The easy start was not so easy to start. It took several tries to finally get the weedwaker started, however, once started it work very well.

Engine works pretty well - it starts up quick, almost every time. Runs as loud as any other trimmer I have used. Power seems fair for the price, weight, etc. Everything else on this product is questionable at best- please see below: - ***The Hassle Free cutting system is absolute junk. It doesn't work or last. It is supposed to be better than the "tap and feed" method. Plan on going through multiple lines on a small sized yard. Seriously. You will be stopping every few minutes to replace the line*** - No other aftermarket, etc. products fit on this. If you are not satisfied with the "hassle free," thing, you are stuck with it. (After Sears refused to refund my money on this, I went ahead and drilled some holes in the end shaft, and made my own mods.) - The end piece of the shaft (silver colored, aluminum?) is soft and garbage. Cracked after several months - screws came loose and were lost. I had to replace them. Again, made other mods to repair this issue.

This wasn't it for me. Pros were - Lightweight, easy start, easy to replace line, easy to handle, nice handle cons, Loud, small cutting area (14"), small gas tank, one line head, cutting lines act as fan sometimes. Regular trimmer line worked better. First time using I had to fill gas twice, replace line three times, this is a lot of needless stopping to get the job done. I want one you can start, do your job without stopping. I returned this one, ordered one with a bump line and bigger gas tank and engine for same price (sears). The store did not stock these. If you have a very small yard with just grass to trim without hitting a fence or rocks, this might be for you. I have a medium size yard with landscaping bricks, which eat the lines fast.

Lightweight, get the job done.

The pull string broke the first time I used it. This is the third try at this same trimmer. Sears needs to go back to the drawing board on this one.

I was given this trimmer as a gift and read the reviews before using it. There are several reviews stating that this trimmer is underpowered, and when I first started using the trimmer I was very disappointed to find that I agreed with them. THEN, after about 2 minutes, the thing had warmed up nicely and WOAH. No shortage of power whatsoever. It was actually scary powerful... I was launching pine cones clear across the yard when they came into the path of this monster. So... my advice: give it more than 2 minutes before you decide to toss it. I only have 1 use on an 8000 sqft yard, so I'll update if my opinion changes.

this weedwacker is pure junk i do not recommend.

I am 72 and this trimmer is ideal for me, easy to use.

I had this trimmer, used it once, and took it back. This trimmer has no power. They should call it a fan. It blows the grass of of your way...I guess it doesn't spin fast enough to actually CUT the grass.

i bought this item with my cultivator; i think it has the same engine; it starts well and it easy to use; i like fixed line heads.
