The C3 19.2v Line Trimmer is a BEAST on any yard large or small April 09, 2011
What is there not to LOVE about this Line Trimmer?! I have used all ranges of line trimmers and of them all, this 19.2V is right up there with the corded 12 amp models and the small cc gas trimmers. The only assembly is the safety plate on the bottom which attaches with 3 screws. The line is set. The handle needs to be adjusted and a battery thrown on and you are set! I have a 1/2 acre yard in a new construction, so my grass consists of mainly of large thick weeds and light brush along with the new sprouts of grass. This trimmer is HUNGRY for weeds. The tool is light and doesn't fatigue you quickly. The line is strong, some trimmers have cheap line which snaps off against concrete but this puppy keeps feeding line with NO bumping.
The shaft is adjustable, so even my wife was able to use it with ease and she is 5'6. I am 6'1 and do not find myself bending over to weedeat. The entire lower shaft unit rotates a complete 180 to allow for edging WITHOUT inverting the entire handle and all! The edge option creates a smooth line against the concrete and the yard, and the auto feed keeps you rolling without stopping to "bump" the head for line. I got this on sale for $99, and I will say the BEST $99 I have spent, and I am getting one for a co-workers birthday as a gift. AMAZING! Good job on this one Craftsman!

O.K. for light work in SMALL yard July 27, 2010
So this is my 3rd weed eater in 5 years and I'm still not satisfied. Electric was the first purchase but keeping up with the cord is a real pain. The next was a Craftsman 32 cc which I like and although the added power comes in handy with other attachments, it is very loud.
Now the cordless 19.2 volt has its pluses, no gas, quiet, and light. The draw backs, battery life is limited to about 20 to 30 minutes, auto feed does NOT work well at all, weak power when it comes to cutting back thick growth or scalping to the ground. If you have a VERY SMALL yard with little area to maintain then this will do the job bot otherwise don't waste your time.

Pros beat consTrying to go as "GREEN" as possible, I figured adding th C3 Cordless Line Trimmer to my growing C3 collection was a no-brainer. I have lots of bushes and trees to trim around. The auto feed works as it should and the adjustable angle feature makes using it easy. I picked up a second spool and additional line so I can be ready to go when I run out of line. I do use a second battery if I let the grass get a little long, but I then use that battery to power my C3 Blower to clean off the patio, sidewalk, and driveway without it slowing down. It does take a while to get used to the safety lock which must be kept in while in use. This would be my only complaint since gas trimmers are far more dangerous and don't, I believe, have this feature. at least my old one doesn't.
It does seem to take a little longer to trim because it does have a smaller cut path compared to my 10 year old Craftsman twin line gas trimmer, but since I don't have to fool around with primming, choking, pulling the cord a couple of times, filling with gas,mixing oil with the gas, things probably even out. I have not used the gas trimmer since I bought this one. I may use the gas trimmer for the first and last trim, we'll see.
If you have a small to medium amount to trim and want the convienence of a cordless trimmer that is light , easy to use, shares batteries with other tools, this is a great choice

Battery could last a little longer...,battery life,Lacks power,safety switch is stupid for a trimmer,Dosen't workI purchased this trimmer 4 months ago, I should have returned it by the third time I used it. I thought I was just being to critical. This trimmer doesn't last 10 minutes. I have to put it up and go get my old Toro to finish my yard. This trimmer will be going out for my next FREE yard sale. DON'T BUY IT!!!!

WEAK, & auto feed doesn't work,battery life,Lacks powerI bought this basically to keep a small fenced in area cut, as well as the area around my rose bushes which is probably about 2 feet out and 20 feet along the front of my house. I was really amazed at how quick the battery died. I didn't even get to the back yard, just did the front part and within 15 to 20 minutes the battery started wearing down. I haven't tried to use it again. Could be, I just wasted 128.00 dollars, but for a Craftsman I was really disappointed.
