Black & Decker  1550 PSI Electric Power Washer

Does a slow but adequate clean on my deck and my siding. Spent about 1-1/2 hours on my 16 X 24 deck with nozzle about 3 inches away and a big improvement. Do not get nearly as close for vinyl siding--2 to 3 FEET for siding and siding goes much faster. Great for cleaning stuff like yard equipment and auto parts.

Spend a little extra and get a different one. We received as a wedding gift, 6 months later we had to replace the plug (that was another hassel to try to order a part!), now 6 months later, the wand broke (cracked). We are very careful when sitting it down, wrapping it up, etc...

Thos was really poorly made and very difficult to assemble. I was extremely pleased with the Sears return department and they took this piece of,junk off my hands with no questions asked. Not a good product at all.

Great product for size and ease of operation

Surprisingly effective small and lightweight machine. Some assembly instructions (attach handle and cord holder) are clear and putting together was fun - wonder why somebody had problems with this. High pressure jet works perfectly - cleaned some stains on the concrete driveway and old paint spots on the slate patio floor in seconds (before couldn't get rid of them with chemical cleaners). This jet easy removes any paint - so be careful, if intending just to clean of dirt, don't go closer than 2 ft. Worked out the fence and deck - so clean, my wife is happy (so me too :)). Bottom line - highly recommend!

I bought this back in March 2012. After going through the trouble of putting it together I then noticed the prongs for the power supply were bent. I brought it back to Sears and exchanged it with no problem. I didn't have have time to put another one together, so I didn't bother until a few weeks later. Once I got it assembled I started to use it. I was pleased. I literally used it for 5 minutes when it stopped working. I couldn't get over it. I gathered all of the parts and headed off to Sears again. They asked if I wanted to exchange it again, but there was no way I was going to put another one together to only have more issues. I have always been a fan of Black & Decker tools. This was a huge disappointment!!! I found an awesome washer for the same price at Lowe's. It's called GreenWorks. Super easy set up and no cheap plastic connectors! I used it for a few hours today. I am now a happy camper. I'm glad Sears refunded my money without any issues. I will of corse continue to shop there, but Black & Decker may have lost a loyal customer.

I wanted to wait till I had used this on the deck, sidewalk, and vinyl siding to review it. It is pretty much what I expected it to be. I didn?t want a gas powered pressure washer as a home owner. Homeowners I know with those get themselves in trouble by applying more pressure to a job than they know how to handle. I think 1500 PSI is more than enough for most homeowner jobs. I haven?t used the jet stream on anything yet and probably never will. I used the high speed fan spray to clean the deck?it did a good job there and made the deck look like new for the most part. I think it was almost too much pressure for parts of the wood on the deck boards anyway. Used the high speed fan spray on the side walk and it did a fantastic job of cleaning it. Restored it to pretty much new look. I used the low speed fan spray on the vinyl siding and it did a good job of cleaning it. It has been well worth the $90 sale price, convenient to move around, so far worked as advertised and I?m 90% happy with it. My only complaint (deduct 1 star) is that the wand hose can be difficult to remove or maybe I just haven?t learned how to do it yet without a struggle. And, sometimes the hose can be difficult to get firmly attached and removed. They can both be difficult to turn and tighten so they don?t leak and remove when finished. It does seem to help if you remove the hose from the faucet first which I guess helps break any vacuum effects going on in the hose and making it more difficult to remove. If I can just manage to get these to go on and off with less hassle I will be totally satisfied. As it is though it is still worth the money, does the jobs I need well, and stores easily in a small place.

Great machine, nice power.

This Black & Decker 1550 SI had much more power than I expected. It's compact and easy to move around. It was great for stripping our deck. I used it for many hours one day & didn't have any problems. Good price too.
