Tip # 1. You need at least 2 people to assemble, and it will take a full day to do so. Do not attempt to do this by yourself. Tip # 2. Do not try to do this on a windy day. Tip # 3. Get the floor kit.
This shed is not difficult to assemble. If you can follow instructions, you can do it. However, it is VERY time consuming. There are what seemed to have been a thousand screws and washers to put together. One person can assemble the screws, while the other drills the screws into the walls and frames. It arrives in very thin sheets. So as you stand it up, it is very wobbly. One person needs to hold it up, while the other screws into place (otherwise the sheets flop over or bow into a wave). This is also why you want to make sure it's not windy.
Having the floor kit will ensure that the walls remain square as you put everything together. Not having the floor system, you risk the walls of the last corner not coming together. There is NO slack. We had to first build a platform because we have a slope in the land. We then screwed the floor system directly on to the plywood of the platform. If you are putting this directly onto the ground, you may want to purchase the straps to hold it down.
Once the shed was put up, we then cut plywood to the shapes of the floor system. Make sure you get the right thickness of plywood, so that your floor is level. Just measure the height, I forget what it was. If you don't get the right thickness, you'll end up with "speed bumps" in your shed, which will make rolling you wheeled equipment difficult. As a last "enhancement" we sealed the outside perimeter with clear silicone caulk. This will prevent water from seeping in through the bottom, and slowly rotting out our floor.
The doorway clearance is about 5' 4", and there is not much head room inside. But there is a lot of space inside. We fit 2 mowers, a pressure washer, multiple 50 gallon containers containing yard tools, other yard equipment (blower, trimmer, etc.), and I purchased a wire shelf system that we have along the entire side of one wall that holds various smaller gardening items. You'd be amazed how much you can fit in there if you're organized. The sliding doors sometimes stick when you try to open and close them. But I think that's because dirt gets into the tracks easily. If you buy a pad lock, buy the type with the very long "U" shaped hook and that is weather resistant.
After we built it, we realized, this shed is here to stay. There is no taking this apart and moving it. We've had some winter and summer storms blow through and have had no issues. It's still standing as strong as the day we finished building it.
Shed too hard to assemble. Returned it but had to pay shipping.
