Bought the Poulan after reading many postive reviews. This is my first gas powered trimmer so I didn't know what to expect. The price was right. Unit fired up on the third pull, and idled like a charm. I've used it three times now and it cranks within two or three pulls. I was concerned about the 25CC engine, but it has good power. I bought the Sears Edger Attachment and have used it a couple times with ease. I would recommend this unit. Going to try some other attachments in the future.

When I bought this I really had no idea what I should be looking for.  All I knew is that I wanted a gas trimmer with enough engine power to handle large stubborn weeds and that's when I stumbled upon this 25cc trimmer from Poulan.

I like that it is a straight shaft style trimmer so you don't need to hunch over while operating it.  It cuts through the tallest grass and weeds with ease and with usually just one pass.  The shaft also comes apart for different add-on attachments.  The blower attachment, which I also own, is a great add on for this trimmer.

The only problem I've found is that threading new replacement lines can be difficult because it tends to wind and get tangled up in the head of the unit.  Once you have it you almost don't want to change the lines no matter how worn out they get.  But since you only do this every once and a while it's not a big deal.

I bought this to replace a 15 yr old Craftsman that finally died. The 3 main features I was looking for in a new machine were 52" or longer straight shaft, bump line feed, and a manual choke. The descriptions for this unit met the first 2 requirements and I was hesitant at first about the "automatic" choke. However, once seeing the machine at my local Sears I noticed that the automatic choke is actually a user option. The choke can be operated manually if you like. The "automatic" feature is actually a release of the choke when the throttle trigger is pulled. . . .nice idea Poulan, third requirement met. Bump line feeder works beatifully. The primer bulb is easily accessable yet protected from abrasion and damage. It's also easy to see the fuel lines to and from the tank so you'll know when the carb is fully primed. Air filter is a bit small but super easy to remove for cleaning. The spring assist starting works REALLY well. Short, wrist pulls is all it takes to get it fired. The clutch begins to grab just above idle speed and holds strong thru the rpm range. The powerhead has plenty of guts even at half throttle. Very low vibration from the powerhead with vitually none in the shaft or trimmer head. I also purchased the Poulan Pro edger and pole pruner, plus the Ryobi hedge trimmer. Everything works real well together. I'm not too crazy about the bright yellow color, but for $125 . . . . . I can live with it ;-)
