    Great value. October 12, 2010

    Seems I buy a trimmer per summer or 2.  I have only used this once, but I am impressed with all aspects of the trimmer.  This is the best I have ever owned and thought I'd share for others who may be as frustrated as I have been.  Easy to start cuts like a professional unit and the string last for longer than I have ever experienced.  

    Only thing to watch out for is the spray of cuttings which the shield does a poor job of protecting you from.  Wear jeans and glasses!

    Good Trimmer - Mostly June 02, 2010

    I just replaced a Troy Built trimmer with this model.  I have had a lot of problems with the Troy Built model and thought I would give Craftsman a try.  Pros - It was very easy to put together, the Troy Built attachments fit the Craftsman just fine, the line is easy to change, the protective cover behind the trimming line is quit large and helps in keeping you from wearing grass.  Cons - The trimmer says all over the place how easy it is to start, but even though I did what it said to do, I had to pull about 5 or 6 times to get it to start.  The biggest complaint would have to be the stupid oil dipstick or lack of one.  On the Troy Built unit, you just put the trimmer on a flat surface and unscrewed the cap and there was a little dipstick to see the oil level.  With the Craftsman, you are told to put it on a flat surface and then unscrew the cap and use a flashlight to look in the hole and see how much oil is inside.  The oil is black and shiny and acts like a mirror, so you can't really tell what you are looking at.  Even though this seems like a perfectly fine trimmer, if I had noticed no dipstick, I would have purchased some other model.

    This product is great as I have RA and the starter I purchased with this unit is fantastic. It has lots of power. The unit is a little heavy and recommend you purchase a shoulder strap.

    Just bought this product after my Cub Cadet 4 cycle broke. Easy set up and universal attachment design fit my edger and blower attachments as well. The unit is lighter and has better balance than my old unit. This unit also has a choke, which made starting far easier as well.

    This weedwacker is great. I love the fact that it only uses gasoline. I don't have to mix oil/gas together. It is a real time saver. Another big plus is the fact it has an easy access line. You can just drop it into two holes and pull the line. It can't get much easier than this. It is a little heavy for a lady, but I can use it for short periods. My son loves it and now looks forward to weedeating the property.

    Been a Ryobi man for over 11 years. I bought 2 in 11 years, when the 2nd Ryobi died within a year of working from the Depot, I knew I needed to check our Sears. So i bought this machine last season needing a new wacker/edger/blower. Worked well with all my ryobi pieces! The machine is simple and she starts EVERYTIME like the book said when i 1st bought it. I have changed the oil on it and it runs like a top. I dont think it is heavy, I think it works well for what you paid. It is a LOT simpler as a 4 cycle without having to mix the crappy oil mix and gas. She runs well. I dont think and know why u would need a strap, but i guess it might be nice to have. Most importantly to change the string on the wacker, so simple, just cut a piece of the correct size, take out the piece and u are done!
