The Sears Craftsman 20" Hedge Trimmer performs beautifully! August 09, 2010
For the price, this lives up to the Sears Craftsman reputation for quality ... easy to use, not too heavy, and delivers a quick and professional cut to hedges and bushes. Very easy, out of the box set up, and minimal assembly ... so very easy, I didn't even need the instructions.
If you're in the market for a hedge trimmer at a great value, you'd be hard pressed to find another that delivers as well as this one!

No replacement parts July 24, 2008
My only beef with the CRAFTSMAN trimmers is the fact alot of the motor parts (that eventually will need repacing) are discontinued and they do not list a recommended replacement part. Nor will they offer to solve the issue ..do not invest alot into a craftsman product because you will have to replace the item since they discontinue many replacement parts for you to just do a repair..

Great value,Easy to use,Quick and clean cut,lightweight and sharpPick this up at my local Sears! Love it! I completed work on my front yard in no time! It worked well on trimming evergreens and rhodies. It's light and easy to manuver around scrubs.

Pros:
Easy to useThis hedge trimmer is a Craftsman 20" hedge trimmer. It is 3.4 amp.
I had a craftsman 17" hedge trimmer that I liked but it was over 8 year old and the gears were stripped so it kept jamming. Now I bought the 20" trimmer as I could not find a Craftsman 17" hedge trimmer at a reasonable price.
Since I only bought the hedge trimmer I have not been able to fully test it. I am sure it will measure up to the Craftsman name as all my other Craftsman products have. Only time will tell.

Off button broke after second use,exchange broke after 2nd useThe original unit would not turn off when the trigger was released - a HUGE SAFETY DEFECT! The replacement unit broke during the 2nd use. Each time I took it back for exchange they tried to tell me I had to ship it back to the factory for repair. I had to point out that the manual said return to any Sears for a FREE EXCHANGE before they would honor the warranty. The customer service agent initially told me they only do one exchange. I asked her to point out in the manual where it says only one exchange. The manager came out and acted like he was doing me a favor by honoring the warranty. These cheap Craftsman electric garden tools are NOT up to the standard of the hand and power tools. I recommend you avoid them.
