So far so good October 10, 2008
I purchased this blower because I can't stand the smell of the 2 cycle exhaust. I was concerned after reading the reviews when getting home after buying it. Since I already had it, I would give it a chance. I took it out for a test, I was very pleased with it. I cleaned my driveway quickly, it also blew pine needle out of my lawn will little effort. Started easy, ran well. I feel that the power is not what I expected, but it took care of pine needles and leaves much better than my 2 cycle blowers. My test ended up with me finishing my yard. So far so good.

This blower is not worth it May 28, 2008
I purchased this blower on Saturday and took it back on Sunday after reading these reviews. I wish I had read them before hand and saved myself the trouble. They also wanted to charge me a 15% restocking fee. As noted in the other reviews, it's fairly easy to start and quiet. However, it was so weak in output compared to my old SEARS two stroke that I had hand cramps from squeezing the trigger thinking it would blow harder. It can only do the lightest of blowing chores. I am looking at a Sthil as recommended above. Also, this was the first SEARS product that I have ever returned and I have bought many, many lawn garden and power tools from SEARS.

Pros:
4 -stroke; no oil smells,Comfortable shoulder harness,Great on gas,Light weight,The easiest gas powered device to start!Works absolutely and expected. Up and running out of the box in LESS than 5 minutes didn't even have to adjust the straps on the backpack. Started on the first pull and has ever since. Piles up the leaves from 5 huge maple trees EASILY. Highly recommend.

Great on gasI think I have found a lawn man for life. I have had them come and go, mainly go, because I have a large lawn with lots of leaves year round. I still had too many leaves that didn't get taken care of last fall; because the last one I hired stopped showing up. When I hired this one, I told him that I expected someone who would do the leaves regularly that I could depend on. He said that one person he worked for had gotten him one of these Craftsman back pack blowers over a year ago, and he assured me of his consistent work if I'd buy it. I had long been a Craftsman fan; so I looked at it and decided to splurge. He's had it a month now and loves it. He has assured me he'll be the most dependable worker I've ever had; because I showed such willingness to help him with his work. More than one neighbor has asked about it and expressed their interest in getting one, too.

I've bought many Craftsman tools and machines over the years, but this one turned out dissapointing. I bought the best one they had and figured it would be the best. The machine is lightweight and easy to start. I am very disappointed in the power of the blower. I wanted a backpack blower and was surprised how weak 175 MPH it is. I have lots of leaves to blow but it takes too long because of the power. I guess I would recommend it to people if they want a non gas/oil mix machine, but you might be better off with the non-backpack 200+ mph units....that is half the price.
