Very good hand-held anvil pruners. April 07, 2011
I like these anvil pruners and I got them on sale for seven dollars instead of the regular thirteen. The blade is hardened and very sharp. They fit together very well and the double dipped handles make for a nice cushion and offer good grip when working with tough branches. They cut living as well as dead plant growth very well and cut a surprisingly large diameter branch. They are an excellent buy with the forever warranty on their own and are just as hardy and tough as the best brands out there. I am disappointed that they are made in China but many things are heading that way and I can't say a product is bad "just because" its made there. As long as Sears stands behind these they are a great tool.

Craftsman Pruner doesn't deserve the Craftsman name January 17, 2012
This Craftsman Anvil Pruner does not come up to the standards of Craftsman pruners I've used over the past 40 years. Poorly constructed of cheaper quality metal, the anvil is too narrow resulting in the blade at times bypassing it and jamming. It took two hands to unlock the pruners it was so poorly put together. The jaws do not open far enough unless it is completely open which makes for poor handling. Sears used to have an excellent pruner with the Craftsman label made by Fiskars. I see WalMart carries it now for the same price as this piece of junk.
