Craftsman 179cc 24" Two Stage February 16, 2009
After 14 years of using a Craftsman Single stage, I upgraded to a Dual Stage. After checking reviews I purchased the 24" 179cc about a month ago and wow. Took about 1 min to get used to the difference in size between the Single stage and this one, but it does the job and more. Had several snows from 1 inch to 6 inches and it handled them all very well. I can't believe how well it does on gas. During the 6 inch storm, I did my driveway and 3 others and still had half a tank of gas. I was a little worried at first because the 6 inch storm was a wet snow, but kept going. Even that slushy stuff in the street. I did follow the advice I have seen about checking every bolt, greasing the chute and adjusting height of the shoes before the first use. Pros: Good on gas, powerful, very easy to start on first pull(Have not used or needed electric start). Cons: Put a little effort in preventive maintenance and there are none. The single stage was passed on to someone else in the family and did fine in the 6" of snow.

Don't buy it February 05, 2009
Had nothing but problems with this blower. First off, the bolt holding on a tire that went flat sheared inside the axle. Now, my drive cable snapped. This unit is only 3 months old and I don't think I should be having these kinds of problems already.

Easy to setup and use February 13, 2009

If your home is close to SEARS and you do not have a SUV for pickup, you can easily unpack and roll the snow thrower to your home. It comes almost assembled. Just have to tighten a bolt in the handle and the chute can be easily assembled at home. If you have a car, it will not fit in for pickup. You need an SUV, I have used it a few times and works great so far.

Had nothing but problems with this blower. First off, the bolt holding on a tire that went flat sheared inside the axle. Now, my drive cable snapped. This unit is only 3 months old and I don't think I should be having these kinds of problems already.
