Conventional Oil Change Service (Filter & $3.50 shop fee excluded)

Sears sold gift cards "Good for one conventional oil change." Stated in the offer is "does not include tax." Also stated in the offer "Conventional Oil change includes up to 5 quarts of Valvoline oil, Oil Filter and Lube, if needed." I gave one of the cards to my girlfriend and we went up to get an oil change done. First we were told that they didn't have the filter. I went and got one myself. They STILL charged $5.96 when we used the gift card. Sears has no right to do this. I paid for the gift cards. Sears accepted my payment for them to provide a specified Sears failed to provide the service. I wouldn't be too upset if I had to pay a couple bucks the filter is an odd ball BUT I SUPPLIED THE FILTER! Next step is small claims court.

Made appointment online, and was supposed to be emailed with appointment time. When I didn't rcv my email, I drove to Sears. They didn't even know that I was supposed to be there on that day, so rescheduled me for the next, and even wrote it in an appointment book. When I arrived, they once again had no record, couldn't find the book, and there was a 3 hour waiting time. No thank you.. I left, and would never go back again. Would rather go to *******...

From what I read they try and suck you in for services u didn't want. in order to justify the great deal. go to ******* u get what u paid for . shop in store while u wait . pennzoil and filter about 36 dollars.

Received ready for email notification - when ordering was told someone would contact me - nobody ever did. Also indicated time I wanted my appointment when ordering. Since nobody called, I went to the store and was told by the associate that they don't take appointments and it would be 2 hours for an oil change. Also was told that this was a new item and they didn't know much about it. Basic response from associate was 'sorry about that'. Well that's not good enough. I have done oil changes and purchased tires there before but will not be doing business there again.

I always do all my own oil changes, but I was lured in by a coupon I received for $10 off an oil change. Thus I purchased an oil change for my girlfriend and told her all she had to do was take her car to Sears and get her oil changed...it was all taken care of. Much to my chagrin, she calls me later that evening recounting the argument she had just had with the Sears employee because they charged her $8 for an oil filter and disposal fee. The argument arose because I had told her "it was all taken care of"...because I paid for it in advance! If you're going to charge extra for a filter and oil disposal fee then do it up front! Thanks for making me look like a schmuck Sears...it won't happen again.

I purchased the oil change online for $15.55 and booked a time to have it completed. The online ad says that it includes the filter. When I got to the Sears Auto Service Center, they told me that the $15.55 was a deposit for the $29.99 oil change and that I would owe the balance of $14.44 plus I would have to pay for the oil filter! I had also purchased a Die Hard battery online. I told them to forget it and just credit my account! What kind of business it this? Avoid Sears Auto Centers!

Waited the 2 hours that they promised and then found out they weren't anywhere near STARTING my oil change. Maybe you should call and let people know when something like that happens. The guy at the counter didn't seem to care, either. Way to go Sears @Hammond Square Mall!

I will never have my car serviced by Sears again. I scheduled an oil change online, but the store said they did not have my information in their system and I would have to contact the Sears online department myself.My credit card had already been charged for the service. I spent 2 hrs talking to phone reps, but they kept saying they had already sent my info and the store should have it. They refused to cancel the service . I finally got an oil change after talking to the manager at the store, but then I find out the store had charged me again for the service. I tried calling customer service again and they refused to help me and said I would have to contact the store for a refund. The store has refused to refund me for the service as well. I was charged twice for one oil change. Had to wait 3 hours for the oil change I did get. Really bad experience and will never shop with sears again.
