Fuel System Cleaning ($3.50 Shop fee excluded)

I brought in my car that only had 25,000 miles on it for a standard oil change. I was suggested the fuel system clean (4 part) and it made a huge difference in my gas mileage! It is recommended at every 15,000 miles and plan on continuing to do so. To the gentleman that complained about only having 23,000 miles on his car, your wife could have said no as it was merely a suggestion. I am a female as well and the implication that somehow they were taking advantage of her based on her gender is ignorant and laughable. It is actually a beneficial service as it removes carbon build-up from injectors, valves and combustion chambers and can be done at any point not just for high mileage vehicles. I did my own research before giving the okay to the offer, perhaps you should do the same. I have seen a 15% increase in my fuel consumption and would recommend this service to anyone that wants to save money in the long run.

Went to my local sears auto store here in South Rd Poughkeepsie NY for a fuel system cleaning. I own a 04 Explorer and never had it done. Service was done in under 45 mins and as soon as I drove it I noticed the change immediately. Great work!!!

Sure; in certain particular situations I can see where this service MAY help a high mileage vehicle that is presenting problems/symptoms that this treatment may help, etc. HOWEVER, my wife was taken advantage of (she has very limited knowledge of vehicle maintenence) when she brought my car in for a rotation (and reluctant balance) of my tires along with an oil change - period. I normally would bring it in myself, but was not able to this time. Never again! What I wanted apparently was not enough money spent. They (shop manager) recommended an air filter change (ok, she called me about this and I went along) BUT they (manager again) "slipped in" this so-called 3-part fuel system cleaning service on my car that only has 23,500 miles and is still running like new!!! Explain that! How could anyone ever substantiate this??? So, $110 (and 2.5 hrs) later, she was out the door, totally ***'ed-off and frustrated!! Come on people, where are your ethics and morals?? I will NEVER let Sears change my oil - or maybe even touch my tires again! In conclusion, I have not yet had a chance to drive my car after this uneccessary treatment (and money spent) - so let's hope the performance and/or gas mileage is not worse by the addition of all these chemicals or you-all will be hearing more from me!!

The mechanics were great. They went beyond superior service. They kept me informed on the work that needed to be done. Great place to take your vehicle to get back on the road.

No change in performance, i think the mpg has gone down and the vehicle is vibrating, I think i was lured into this...

Before I worked at Sears Auto Center I never thought twice about cleaning my fuel sytem either professionally or with an OTC chemical. Now I deffinatly have seen the need to clean the system but remain skeptical as to the effectiveness of the service in general (OTC or Professinally) I had the Sears Auto Center fuel system cleaning 3 part service perfomed on my Hyundai that had about 95k and to my knowledge had never had this kind of service. As a technician myself I am well aware of the chemicals purpose to remove carbon build up and thus increase power and efficency. However as stated before, I remain skeptical as to weather a chemical alone (without any elbow grease) can do a good job of this. The car after the service to me didn't seem to have any noticeable power increase, and no sizeable gas mileage effiency changes. I was happy with the service as I know its better than doing nothing, and severe carbon build up can really bog an engine down. I would reccomend this service also becase I have performned the same service on other vehicles that boged and sputtered not responding well to throttle position changes, and afterwards a noticable difference was made. Keep your eye out for coupons on this service, becasue thats a good time to get it at a great value.

still had same problems, actually looks like my MPG have gone down after the service. 110k miles when service performed.

Just had my 60K maintenance today with a bunch of fluid services - fuel system cleaning among one of them.  Vehicle performed like new - no more hesitation when shifting into drive.  Not sure if it was the ATF replacement or this fuel system svc... maybe both.  Anyway, car works great now... maybe I'll keep driving it for another 5 years.
