ShipVantage has garnered a lot of negative attention. Most of it seems to be from people who were interested in free shipping at the time an order was being placed with no intention of ever wanting to pay the membership fee after the trial period expired.
I've had this membership for less than a month. It's already saved me quite a bit of shipping fees on Sears.com and mygofer.com and I'm sure it'll save me quite a bit in the future as well.
The terrific part of this program is that orders, so long as they aren't oversized, are shipped free via standard shipping and for a small amount more are shipped expedited.
I've used the standard shipping option twice now and have received my order in less than 4 days. It's terrific and well worth the annual membership fee.
If you are sincere in perhaps using this program to your advantage, use the trial membership. However, if you are looking to simply get whatever you are purchasing at the time with no shipping, this might not be the program for you. Of course, if you are sincere in wanting to try it and decide that it's just not for you, then that's fine too.
ShipVantage is an excellent program for those who do much of their shopping exclusively with Sears, Kmart, Land's End, and other affiliates.

I decided to give it a try, and see if it was really worth it. After calculating how much I would save over a year, it just didn't work out, so I decided to cancel it well before the end of the trial. A month after canceling, I still have the charge on my account, and customer service saying that the cancellation is being processed. I called again today, and they had an error, and the return was never processed. Not too happy with customer service right now. I spend way too much money at Sears to have to deal with mistakes like there.

Worst. Experience. Ever. It took 20 buisness days to receive an order I placed for 3-5 day shipping. Sears told me a week after I was supposed to receive my order, that they would contact me within 5-7 days with a response to where the package was. They never responded and I just received the item one day unexpectadly.
Don't do it .... they charge me even though I was in the trial period !!! Lame !!!
I added this when I ordered a large appliance on-line as they said I was able to cancel it before it auto renewed itself a year later. I went through all of the appropriate steps that it told me to in order to cancel it, and it still auto-renewed and charged my Sears CC $83.35 without allowing me to return the item.
I signed up for the trial when order. But the item was out of stock and never shipped. So Sears cancelled my order--but not the Shipvantage. Got billed $84 months later.
