Dream Solutions  Total Protection Mattress Pad

My husband and I purchased this Total Protection Mattress Pad by Dream Solutions in a twin size several months ago. We have a five year-old child who has cerebral palsy and we recently got him a new comfortable twin bed with an expensive mattress set. He had finally grown out of his oversized crib and he occasionally has bed-wetting accidents, which most anyone with bedridden loved ones has experienced. We had originally purchased a waterproof mattress pad from another competitor, but found that wash after wash it continued to have this terrible odor of vinyl, which came from the plastic leak-proof mattress pad backing. At the time we could not find a mattress pad that did not have this odor. Eventually we were shopping at Sears for a new twin comforter and while casually speaking to an associate in the bedding department about the mattress pad issue she took us to the mattress pads and pointed out the Dream Solutions Total Protection Mattress Pad. The first thing I noticed was how thick and lofty the mattress pad was. They were also on sale. I took it partially out of its packaging and felt it. It felt so soft, thick and rich. I then smelled it and there was absolutely no odor of plastic or vinyl. I turned to the associate and asked her if she was sure it was waterproof. She showed us the big bold label on the packaging indicating that it was waterproof and assured us that it was. She told us she has recommended them to other customers in the past and has never received a complaint and never had one returned. I looked at the price again and couldn't believe the value. It was almost too good to be true getting what appeared to be this great cozy, waterproof mattress pad at this price, but she made us feel assured we would be happy with it. We decided to buy it to replace the one that smelled of vinyl. I am very happy to report that after several months of use it has been a mattress saver! No leak-through and the pad has absorbed all accidents. Furthermore, this mattress pad has machine washed and dried bright white clean (without using bleach) each time maintaining its original loft, appearance and waterproof barrier. The tag recommends washing and drying in the gentle/delicate cycle, which we have. We are so happy with this mattress pad that we just ordered two more (on sale again) in the twin size for our other two children (five and six years old) who just got new bunk beds with brand new mattresses. I'm confident this mattress pad will protect our investment while at the same time make our children?s' beds feel warm and cozy. I should also mention that this mattress pad is Stain Resistant, Anti-Microbial with a hypoallergenic fill, for those who may have allergies, and claims to have a Dust Mite Barrier (according to the packaging). The manufacturer also offers a two year limited warranty. These are not part of the reasons why we bought these pads, but definitely a nice bonus. Also the skirt stretches to accommodate mattresses up to 18-inches thick. Our mattresses are all about nine inches thick and this mattress pad fits them without shifting. The nice quality stretch skirt holds it on perfectly.
