    Not quite an "android phone" without the "phone" November 09, 2010

    I bought five of these for the kids in my family for Christmas, and one for my mom.

     

    This unit is probably best suited for use as a media player.  Movies and music played nicely.

     

    It lacks full access to the Android Marketplace...no Angry Birds for the Archos28!

     

    It does access the Archos AppsLib, which still has a good number of exceptional apps.

     

    no exterior speaker...must use headphones.

     

    All In All, it's not a bad unit and certainly suitable as a fancy media player, but it's not quite the iPod Touch they all -really- wanted.

     

    Only $100!

    Nice functionality for the price angood rsponse for touch screen January 06, 2011

    This was a trial purchase as my daughter asked for a Zune for Christmas. I was surprised at how well the device's internet features worked and the ability to surf the web. As my daughter only wanted a high end MP3 player , this functioned as the MP3, video player and much more. This device connected easily to my router and the device was easy to set up. I was able to go to the Archos web site , register the device and upgraded the firmware which added some additional features. My daughter did complain about accessing the E-buddy app and setting up her email. She may have worked through that issue. A nice buy for the price.

    User Friendly

    Easy to use, wi-fi ready. Good price. My 11 year old daughter loves it. It was a better option than spending the money to let her have internet cell phone.
