Home audio accessories make it easier to set up a great home audio system or music device. The right accessories can make a stereo sound better or help it fit in with a home's decor. Sears has dozens of audio accessories from Sony, Monster, Logitech and other major manufacturers for better home audio.
Cables are probably the most popular type of audio accessory. There are several major types of audio cables. The most universal cable format for use with a stereo system is RCA, which has red and white tips for a stereo's right and left audio signal. Surround sound systems will need an optical cable or an HDMI cable, both of which transmit digital signals that can be much clearer and more precise than what is provided with the RCA cable format. Speaker wire is also available to connect speakers to an audio component system rather than connecting the various audio players in a system to the stereo receiver.
Speaker stands and mounting brackets are other absolute essentials. Mounting brackets install to the studs in a home's walls and are capable of holding a large amount of weight. They can be used to hold appropriately weighted speakers, but it's important to also look for speakers that are designed to be mounted. Speaker stands are another option for raising speakers to the appropriate height and can be a great complement to a room's decor.
Some audio accessories expand the capabilities of a home audio system. Headphones are a popular example, and there are dozens of different types of headphones available, including over-the-ear headphones, in-ear headphones and wireless headphones. Most headphones are sold with a standard 1/8" headphone jack, but a headphone adapter can be used if a stereo only has a 1/4" jack output.
Fro surge protectors to remote controls, Sears has a variety of audio accessories to help any home audio system reach its full potential.
