Mens Dress Shoes

Men's Dress Shoes To Suit Your Wardrobe Style
Men's dress shoes are designed to fit a wide range of personalities, preferences and occasions. Oxfords and loafers are the most traditional men's dress shoe, but boots and fashion-forward shoes are quickly becoming popular.
Unlike other types of men's shoes, dress shoes offer a wide assortment of toe designs to choose from, including capped, plain, square, round or bicycle. Wing tips have a pointed toe cap with decorative stitching that forms a wing pattern, while a monk strap shoe features a stylish metal buckle on the side. Most men's dress shoes come in a standard medium width and are typically black, although brown is also a popular color. A few designers offer more variety, releasing shoes in beige, off-white, blue, green, red, gray, gold and purple. Sears.com sells men dress shoes in sizes 10 to 17.
For formal events when a suit or tuxedo is required, Oxfords make an elegant, sophisticated statement. Oxfords are available in plain wingtips or decorative brogues. These lace-up shoes should have a thin sole and a slightly lifted heel. The shoelace eyelet tabs are disguised under the vamp for a seamless look. Shiny leather works well for a formal event, while brown, lug soled Oxfords can be paired with less formal clothing. Dockers, Girogio Brutini, Thom McAn and Savile Row all produce classic and trendy Oxford style dress shoes.
Loafers offer a slightly more casual option in men dress shoes. Leather loafers that feature tassels or Italian-style metal buckles across the upper can be worn with dress pants, business suits, sports coats and sweaters. Loafers also come in shiny patent leather, which can be worn for dressy or formal occasions. Structure, Dockers and Adolfo offer these easy slip-on loafers in a variety of styles.
A few designers, including Structure, SM New York and Banana Blues, create ankle-length men's dress boots that can be worn during formal occasions in colder, wetter climates. These boots feature thinner soles than traditional boots and are usually made from shiny durable leather. The insides are often insulated with cozy materials like sheepskin.
Men's dress boots can either be plain or decorative, depending on personal taste. Dan Post designs beautifully detailed Western-style boots that are padded with soft, flexible insoles, while Giorgio Baccini line offers a funky fashion aesthetic with its vibrant red, crocodile print and wrinkled leather uppers that sit atop a rubber sole.
