    Outstanding Portable Unit April 28, 2011

    Great cooling unit, couldn't be any more easy to install. Where I live you are not allowed to have regular window units, this works just as well if not better. Can't say enough good things about it. Had lots of features and a remote that does everything. Mind you I live in the desert {Tucson} where we hit 100' for weeks on end in our everlasting summer,,,6 or 7 months! I got it for $448 at sears online.

    Baught this unit because the sales person recommed it for what we needed. We also were in the middle of a heatwave, which did not help because the machine took several days to cool the area and then temps changed quickly. We only got to use if 4 days before the weather made it unnessary.

    Some what loud

    Although it works fairly well once you get it going, it is incredibly difficult to set up. The hose does not fit into the unit or the window piece - it seems there should be connectors which were not included.  We had to use lots of electrical tape.  But worst of all is the tray included to receive water is tiny!  The first night we woke up to find our whole carpet soaked.  When we tried to then use a 13 x 9 baking pan, the tube then wouldn't work because it had to be lifted to go into the pan and it only works when level with the container.  We tried raised the whole unit by puting it on blocks.  Found the baking pan full after one hour!  We have finally had to raise the unit about 15 inches so the rube can empty into a large bucket! And the unit is very heavy and of course we had to be careful as it is on wheels and could easily fall off. If I had not destroyed the box getting this heavy thing out, I would have returned it.

    This self evaporative unit does anything but.  Every 45 minutes I get a message E-4 and try to drain the thing. (which is also very impossible to do and turns into me getting towels) Turn back on it cools another 45 minutes rinse and repeat all night long.  Checking other review sites this is common practice for this unit.  On top of that the unit has not got the room cooler then 80 degrees.
