Sony  Wireless Stereo Headphones with Transmitter

These do exactly what I wanted., a way to watch TV late at night when I get home from work without disturbing the household. I had hissing until I figured out how to set them up. Plug them into the earphone jack. This turns off the TV speakers and just leaves the headphones on. Turn the headset volume down and turn the tv volume up loud to 65 or so. Remember the TV speakers are off now. Then adjust the headphone volume to your comfort level. No hissing. If you leave the tv at normal volume setting and try to turn up the headphone volume you will get hissing.

The device arrived in its own box unsealed,no plastic cover to protect from humidity while on the shelves,no literature,no warranty card and no installation instructions.The headphones are operational, but has a slight hiss.I feel that I received a" RETURNED item".

These head phones only work in the room it is plugged in. not good!

After reading the reviews from several websites I went ahead and bought these.  I even asked the very nice salesman if they would work with a plasma tv and he said yes.

Well, they don't.  Only got static noise.  Whe I returned them the salesman said I might have had them too close to the tv but I didn't.  It was the plasma thing.

I visited with other website chats and was told I needed RF, not IF.  We'll see.

Bottom line, if you have a plasma tv, these are not going to work for you.

One additional comment... the headset had a spring loaded over-the-head adjustment.  Once you get them on your ears where they should be they start creeping up.

This is perfect. It's got the volume on the headset itself, and that's pretty convenient, easy to hook up, long battery life, etc. The only downside for me so far is that when I go to use the bathroom and it loses connection with its stand, all you hear is loud static. Drives me crazy. But for its price, I guess that's negligible.

I second jhjr4 in that the other reviewers don't understand audio equipment. Turn up your source volume to max (or near it) and then slowly turn up your headset. Be careful not to unplug the headphone jack otherwise you'll wake up the neighborhood with your speakers. They give great sound when setup properly. IR needs line of sight so make sure you can setup them so, otherwise, you'll have poor quality. The headset is comfortable. It doesn't squeeze your head and they are very light. If you move your head rapidly they could fall off. One note, the ear cushions fall off constantly. Once they came off the 1st time I couldn't get them to stay on. Probably could use some glue to tape but still, it's a pain. I actually lost one of the cushions so I am hoping that I can order replacement cushions. Without the cushions, the set is almost un-wearable. All in all for the price, sound, and comfort...a great value.

this head phone is realy uncomfortable, there is no pad on the top so after a while you start feeling pressure on thr top of your head. the ear pads fell off in about 3 months and it is impossible to put them back. in 9 months the left side stoped working. It is under warranty, but sony doesn't have a repair shop in our state , so I have to pay to ship this junk to be repaired, which is not worth while to me. prefer to buy a schlessinger head phone. I thoght sony was maid in japan, but this one is made in malasia. don't waste your money, buy a beeter device

I use this to hear the DVD's I'm watching on TV.  The transmitter cord is very short, which limited its placement.  I had to put it down lower to the floor, instead of on top of my TV cabinet.  The distance between me and the transmitter is about 10 feet.  Sound is always clear and good.  I'm using a cathode ray tube TV-- not a contemporary flat screen or HD or something.  If I stick my foot in the right place while I'm reclined in my chair, then I will block the sound.  Also, if I cover my head with a hood (gets cold in my house), then sometimes the hood will block the beam that carries the sound.

It's great that the headband expands to fit my head and automatically slides back to shrink when I take it off.  Unfortunately, the earpieces don't cup and surround my ears; they just lie flat over.  This makes them slightly uncomfortable, but good enough for the 30 mins at one time that I might use them.

I wish I didn't have to line up specific tabs between the headphones and the base to charge it.

These shortcomings are all minor for the relatively low price.  I could pay less and get crap.  Overall, I am very pleased with these.  I bought to replace my TV Ears which broke in two.

I was honestly excited to buy my first pair of wireless headphones. i have a ps3 and a new plasma tv that i like to use late at night. i thought this would be my solution to late night movies and gaming. i fully charged the battery, installed correctly from tv and the static is overwhelming. i read the manual front to back. near the end it states PLASMA TVS MAY CAUSE STATIC!!! why isnt this on the F'ing box. I tried it downstairs on the other tv. it worked much better depending on where i sat. the transmitter must be cheap because the amount of static it seems to pick up takes away any enjoyment.

I've had these for a few years now and these headphones have lasted well and are still in excellent condition.  The battery still hold a charge for a very long time.  It picks up some static, but overall I'm very satisfied with this purchase.
