Get a quick fix done today with staplers that keep it all together

When you are assembling a project or hammering nail after nail into your construction project, you might wish there was an easier way to get things done. Power tool combo kits are great for helping you finish basic projects in a short amount of time, but they usually leave one type essential tool out: staplers. While you might have an image of a desk stapler in mind, construction staplers are much more advanced, with high-powered firing action and bigger, stronger staples that can even hold lumber together.

If you belong to the old-style woodworking crowd that uses joiners to help create projects free of nails and screws, you might not think you need a stapler to get your home woodworking projects done. However, there will come a time when you have to replace a sheet of drywall and a joiner is not going to help you get that done quickly. If you are wary of power tools, then a hand stapler might be a good fit for you. This is also commonly called a staple gun, because it activates using a trigger mechanism to fire a staple into whatever surface you need assembled. This type of stapler is great for basic home repairs and is fairly inexpensive.

If you plan to renovate your entire home, you might need a stapler with a bit more power. In that case, you will probably need to choose between electric or pneumatic staple guns and brad nailers. Electric staple guns use electromagnetic force to propel the staples out at super high speeds, which is great for dense materials such as lumber, roof shingles and metal. Pneumatic staplers typically offer the most powerful force when applying staples, but do require a nearby air compressor in order to run, rather than a standard electrical outlet. The type of gun you choose will depend on your needs. If you already have a compressor, the pneumatic gun will probably be a cheaper option for you. If you don't already have a compressor, you will need to decide if you plan to run other tools off of a compressor. If not, you might be best opting for the electric options.

Most staplers run using a similar mechanism. The staples are attached to a strip, which is fed through the stapler at high speeds. The gun separates the staple from the strip and propels it using air or electromagnetic force out onto your project. When using a staple gun, always remember that the staples come out with incredible force, which can cause injury if you aren't careful. It is best to keep the stapler aimed away from all persons and body parts to ensure that accidental firings don't cause a trip to the emergency room.

Staplers and staple guns are great for a variety of uses, from carpet installation to construction and wiring. In fact, some staplers come with special long noses to help you get into all the tiny nooks and crannies that simply can't be reached with a hammer and nails. No matter what type of fastener you need, Sears is here to help. With a great variety of manual, electric and pneumatic staplers and staple guns in stock, we are sure to have one that is a perfect fit for you.
