Puzzles from Sears Keep Children Busy and Entertained
Puzzles are the perfect solution to a relaxed playtime that is still exciting for everyone. Afternoons of rainy skies or runny noses can turn from boring days in front of the TV to fun-filled hours of working out the newest puzzle!
The youngest of the puzzle lovers can start with easy, four or five Melissa and Doug jigsaw puzzles of their favorite Disney characters or wild animals. These puzzles are the springboard to a lifelong hobby and help improve their critical thinking skills and hand-eye coordination. As they grow a bit older (usually around the 5-8 range) they will move on to bigger challenges, possibly a tough 3-D puzzle from Puzzled and you will find them asking less and less for your help as they complete their masterpieces. But make sure not to limit yourself just to jigsaw puzzles! Brainteasers such Rubik's Cubes, Rush Hour, and the ever-popular Sudoku will get your kids? brains kicking into high gear!
Puzzle Advice: don?t be too quick to clean up a puzzle once playtime is over, especially if the puzzle is unfinished! Walking away from a tough puzzle for a few hours and coming back to it is sometimes part of the road to success for young thinkers. Give them a day or two for extra hard puzzles; it will be worth it when they put down the final piece!
