The unique shape of the crossbars minimizes wind noise. The A285 crossbars are reinforced aluminum with channels and can support 400 lbs. The mounting bases have a footprint of 2.75" X 1.25" and bolt into the factor (M8) OE Bolt holesl. In total the system weighs in at only 9 lbs.
