I bought this a couple years ago and have been having some problems with the bar hanging over your head. While doing the arm exercises the bar will sometimes drop down hitting you in the head. Now I am afraid to use it. What a waste of my hard earned money.

The directions were easy to read and follow. I built it myself and it took 4 hours. The tricky part is doing the cable and pulleys. This is where most of the time is spent. The machine has a weight stack that is 120 pounds but using it with this pulley system increases the tension weight. For example if you have it set on six weights the pounds are 60 but the tension would be 168lbs. So you don't need a ton of weights the pulley system works fantastic. Great engineering. A must buy for the price.

I love this machine! I am so happy that I can do most all of the exercises without any problems and having to adjust the seat (I'm 5' 2") and my husband can easily use this too (he's 6'3"). My husband and I both put this together and it took approximately 7 hours. The directions were very easy to read. We are very happy with the quality and would definitely recommend!

Thanks to all the reviewers for this product. You helped me chose after reviewing many weight systems. I thought assembly would be more of a challenge but following the manual worked very well. I like the way they broke the assembly into four stages and organized the nuts and bolts accordingly in the packaging. That was extremely helpful. I had the whole thing assembled in about six hours, one person. I did not run into any difficulties including the pulley cable attachment to the weights mentioned in a few reviews, I didn't need to use any of the assembly tips from the reviews. I saw complaints about the Exercise Guide chart so I highlighted all the exercises that could be performed with this machine. I highlighted 27 of the 36 exercises which is just fine for me. I'm buying ankle (4 exercises) and crunch (1 exercise) straps separately. This system meets my needs for workouts and the price was very reasonable.

I like the unit because it has a small footprint. The unit looks good to me. I followed the instructions and found the assembly to be straight forward. I am unable to do curls with the curl pad. The pad interferes with cable (4 stars instead of 5). I use dumb bells for curls. I can complete a workout in less time using the weight machine and I feel safer because I don't have anyone to spot me when I use free weights. The machine also keeps the garage much neater.

My main complaint about this machine is the flimsy wood the seat, seat back and especially the preacher curl attachment is constructed with. The preacher curl cracked the first time I used it and I was only using 24 lbs (2 plates). It didn't break all the way but I won't be using this attachment any more because I know it would finish breaking if I tried to use more weight. That said I still like the machine. I put this machine together by myself in 5 and a half hours with two crescent wrenches, two screw drivers( phillips and flat head) and the included allen wrenches. The hardest part was figuring out which pulleys go where. The v pulleys are actually the fattest pulleys and the so called fat pulleys are regular pulleys with the spacers already attached. I let the machine sit over night after doing a set of 25 flys because the top plate was resting about 2 inches above the second plate. This problem was resolved after a set of heavier weight and reattaching the cable.
