Spent about ten hours putting this thing together which was actually kind of fun. But don't dare start without a socket-ratchet or it'll take twice as long. The build instructions were well done and all the nuts and bolts were plainly laid out against clearly-packaged cardboard. When I connected a couple of the components I over-torqued the ratchet and actually ended up bending some of the bolt points inward. It made me realize I had not bought a 500 lb weight system, but a small weight system with a 150 lb stack. The structure is strong, but it is not built for ultra-heavy weights. Overall, the unit is well-engineered to use just one weight stack plus a "burn band" (bow flex type) resistance band. There are three cables with gears that need to be installed exactly according to the directions or you will be stepping backwards to fix. The resistance is obviously not as smooth as single-use machines since the weight cables are routed through multiple gear points. This issue is acceptable however given the price point and value. I paid $399.00 for this unit and it is well worth it. I would further recommend this unit to anyone looking for a good value in a reasonably small home gym. Comparable systems are twice the price.

I would write a review on how this works...but it was missing parts and when I called Weider for a new part, they said it would take several weeks. I now have parts spread out and I can't use this. If they are so back ordered on parts, perhaps many of their parts are missing or broken? I would certainly find another brand to buy. The first guy I talked to was very nice but the then another one got on the phone and was extremely cocky to me and when I asked a question, he acted like I wasn't there and snapped out a "have a nice day, you should get your part in several weeks"...I have since tripped over the parts (I walk with forearm crutches). Then, when I finally get the part, have to get someone back over to complete the installation. Wonder what thats gonna cost me?
Definitely go with another brand!!

The System is worth the price, but be prepare to take at least five hour two person to put it together also read twice maybe three time every step so you can understand it well when it come to the cables and pullyes the instruction where very vegue. It took me and my 14 Year old son 4.5 hours to put it together..

The installation instructions were easy to follow, but it was a time consuming project. I like the machine for the price, but if you are a smaller person, or someone who is not starting out with some strength to begin with, this machine is not for you. If you are using just one weight, you will get slack in the cables during the return stroke because one weight is not enough to pull the cable through all the pulleys fast enough to keep the cable taught. This causes the cables to come off the pulleys. You need to use at least 2 of the weights to keep the cables taught, thus useless to my wife. Other things I thought you should know. The bars for the arm press feel uncomfortable because the distance between the bars is too far. The plastic balls that keep the cables from being pulled past the pulleys need to be bigger or they need to have covers over the openings to keep the balls from being sucked into the openings, (very difficult to pull back out). Overall, for the price, and a few home made modifications a good machine for me, but not for my wife or 13yr old son.
