Standing Scarecrow

This exercise will help sculpt strong shoulders. Keep shoulder blades down throughout the move, and keep your elbows in line with your shoulders.  

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand.
  • Form a goalpost with arms, so elbows are out to sides at shoulder level, forearms pointed toward ceiling, palms facing forward.
  • Keeping shoulders down and elbows level, slowly lower forearms until they're at shoulder level in front of you.
  • Pause, then press forearms back up to goalpost position.
