Sears Heroes at Home and Rebuilding Together Suit-up for Special MAN OF STEEL™ – Themed Renovation at Historic American Legion
Sears and Warner Bros. Pictures teamed up on an exclusive retail theatrical partnership for one of the most anticipated films of the summer – MAN OF STEEL (in theaters June 14), which featured a Sears store and Sears brands woven into the film.
As part of the sixth annual Heroes at Home renovation and fundraising campaign with Rebuilding Together, Sears hosted a special MAN OF STEEL – themed rebuilding event in San Bruno, Calif. Complete with authentic movie props and limited-edition Superman DC comic books for all participants, volunteers donned special MAN OF STEEL T-shirts and renovated the kitchen and community room, and other needed repairs at the historic American Legion post.
The American Legion Post 409 was erected in 1848, making it 165 years old and currently serves 180 families. The American Legion is a civic and social organization that provides resources and programs for veterans of the United States Armed Forces. The organization provides local events, community service projects and other resources, as well as lobbying on the behalf of veterans’ best interests.
Sears launched the sixth year of Heroes at Home, which has raised nearly $17 million. The Legion Post 409 renovation is one of the hundreds of projects that can be made possible through generous consumer donations both in-store and online at Sears. Now through July 27, Sears is encouraging consumers to consider giving back to the men and women who serve our country by donating funds to Heroes at Home at their local Sears store or via a link online at sears.com/heroesathome
