my Kenmore washer Model #110.23912100 will not spin – how old is this washer – is it worth fixing or just get a new one?

  1. This washer is approximately 11 years old and the not spinning problem can be as inexpensive to fix as replacing the lid switch. If the washer will agitate but not drain or spin then checking the lid switch would be the place to start. Replacing the lid switch is a good do-it-yourself project and can be donw with just a few basic tools. If the washer will drain but not spin then the problem is likely the timer or the clutch/basket drive. While the timer is a good do-it-yourself project the clutch/basket drive require the transmission be removed. The lid switch would be worth checking but replacing the washer would be a better option than replacing the basket drive and/or clutch.
