When, oh when, will my dishwasher ever be delivered? Two weeks out, two delivery “attempts”, no response through all customer service numbers. Who can resolve this?
I purchased a Kenmore dishwasher to replace my standard GE Nautlis dishwasher on August 18. The installation date was supposedly August 21. The Sears salesman assured me the Nautilus was standard sized, and the Kenmore would fit in that space. I bought a refrigerator at the same time which was installed with no problem on August 20.
On August 21, the installer from Quality Kitchens said the dishwasher could not be installed because of new flooring, which he said was a common problem. He said I had to buy a ADA compliant dishwasher, which I did, a Whirlpool dishwasher, even though the ADA compliant models at a reasonable price are not available in quieter options. I purchased the replacedment dishwasher on August 24. This time, the installation date was given as August 31; why a week was needed I don’t know.
On August 31, the installer from Quality Kitchens (Jeremy, I believe? cell phone number 3**-3**-2***) came with the dishwasher and said he couldn’t install the dishwasher because he couldn’t shut off the water (the refrigerator installer was able to shut off the water, but the dishwasher installer wasn’t able to do this, for whatever reason). This was around 2:30 p.m. I told the installer I would call the maintenance man for my condo. I called the condo maintenance man at 2:45 p.m.and the maintenance man said he would come do the water shutoff and would be there within a half an hour. A few minutes after I placed this call, the dishwasher installer said he had to do another installation and he left by 3:00 p.m.. The Quality Kitchens installer had heard me place the call to the maintenance man, and agree to pay for emergency weekend service for water shutoff. I had the dishwasher installer’s cell phone number and he said I could call him when the water was shut off. The condo maintenance man arrived shortly thereafter and shut off the water, which took fifteen minutes at most. Once that was completed, and I had filled out the forms for my condo association, I called the dishwasher installer at 3**-3**-2***, around 3:15 p.m. He said he wouldn’t come back.
I called Sears customer service, and the installation 800 number at was assured that installation would be scheduled for Tuesday, September 3 between 2-4 p.m. This morning, I called Quality Kitchens (3**) 9**-9*** or 9**-9*** and was told that no delivery was scheduled at which point I terminated the phone call in frustration and called Sears’ customer service. After two phone disconnections, I am now on the phone with Larry at the Sears installation number who is trying to straighten this out. He has informed my that Quality Kitchens told him that I cancelled the installations. I did not. I tried to confirm that they were coming this afternoon, and they said they weren’t.
At this point, I have been on hold with the Sears installation customer service for over 1/2 hour, waiting to find out when my dishwasher will be installed.
Please have someone contact me at 2**-2**-3*** (my cell phone, as my work phone is tied up with Sears installation) to advise me what Sears (or Quality Kitchens, for that matter) will do to get my dishwasher installed today, and what they will do to rectify all the time and money I have spent tyring to get this matter resolved.
