What is Gift It by Email?

Gift It by Email lets you choose a gift at and send an egift card for it to your recipient’s email address. Once your recipient receives the gift email, they can choose to redeem the eGift card for the item you selected or use the balance to purchase another Sold by Sears or Sold by Kmart item they may prefer at or in Sears stores. (Please note: Marketplace items are excluded from Gift It by Email.) Gift It by Email orders are processed by our partner Jifiti. 


Can I apply a coupon code or redeem Shop Your Way points?

When sending a gift, coupon codes and Shop Your Way points cannot be applied. However, when your recipient redeems the gift, eligible coupons and Shop Your Points redemptions can be applied. Any remaining funds on the egift card can be used on future purchases. 


What happens if the gift goes on sale or out of stock?

If a gifted item goes on sale, the difference will remain on your recipient’s eGift card, which can be redeemed on a future purchase. If an item is out of stock, your recipient can use the eGift card balance on another item at Sears. 


What if the price of the gift goes up?

If the price of an item goes up before a gift is redeemed, your recipient can pay the additional cost using another payment method or choose another item to purchase with the eGift card. 


How much does Gift It by Email cost?

You pay only the price of the item and sales tax and shipping (if you choose). Gift It by Email is free. 


When does the Gift It by Email balance expire?

The eGift card never expires. 


When will my recipient get their gift?

Your recipient will receive an email with a link to the gift you’ve chosen within three hours of your purchase. You will receive an email confirmation after your purchase and another once your recipient opens the gift email. If your recipient doesn’t open the email within 24 hours, we will let you know so you can forward the notification personally. 


How do I redeem a gift?

Just click the link in the email to get started. You can read the message from the gift sender (and say thank you), and then click on the link to the gift. Add the gifted item to your cart and proceed to checkout. After entering your shipping address, click on the ‘Continue’ button. On the payment page, click the ‘Use a Gift Card’ option. Enter or copy/paste the egift card number and pin from your gift screen and click on ‘Apply Gift Card’. The amount of the gift will be credited. 


Can I redeem my gift in a Sears store?

Yes. Just bring a print out of your egift card number or show it to an associate on your mobile device when you check out. Keep in mind that inventory varies from store to store and your gift may not be available in your local store, but you can use your eGift card balance towards any purchase. 


My gift costs less than my egift card balance. What now?

The difference in the price will remain on your egift card to redeem on a future purchase. eGift cards do not expire. 


Does the sender know if I decide to purchase something else?

They will not know unless you tell them. 


Can I return my gift?

You can return your gifted item for store credit at any Sears store. Please see our return policy

I can’t find the gift email with the link in it. What should I do?

We can resend it. Send us a request at, including the gifter’s name and email address. 


I need help redeeming my egift card. Who can I talk to?

You can send us an email at or call us at +1 (855) 858-0600. If a representative is not available, please leave a message and we’ll get back to you within 24 hours. 


Can I change the email address of my gift recipient?

Send us an email at with the request, including the email you used to send the gift and the new email you would like to use. We’ll resend the gift email. 


How will I know if my gift was opened?

We’ll send you a confirmation email once your recipient opens the gift email. If they haven’t opened it within 24 hours, we’ll send you an email that you can forward to your recipient as a reminder. 


Can I cancel a gift by email?

You can cancel any gift before the gift card is issued. Send a cancellation request to and we’ll cancel it for you. Once the card has been issued it cannot be canceled.


Who bills my credit card?

Gift It by Email orders are processed by our partner Jifiti and will show on the gifter's statement as "Jifiti Gift." Any additional payments made by a gift recipient during redemption are processed by Sears.
