145 Shaker Chest of Drawers Plans by American Furniture Design

This tall chest, designed by Brian Murphy of American Furniture Design, was strongly influenced by the Shaker style of furniture. The design originates from a similar piece made in the 1830's. This is a tall piece which will dominate the setting you choose to place it in. It was made of Imbuya which is a departure from the traditional cherry of the Shaker furniture and has walnut burl inserts in the doors. The wood and material must be purchased at your local lumber supply company; we only supply the woodworking plan and instruction booklet to build the project.

Table saw, router, hand tools, and clamps.
